We have an exciting opportunity for an ER Advisor to join our team, on a 6 Month fixed term contract. This role is part of an HR Transformation programme supporting the business in readiness for extensive growth and development. We are developing a dynamic and transformative people and culture function; this role will be a key player in this new landscape!
This role would suit someone with previous experience managing varied and complex cases to completion, we are looking for someone who is passionate about our industry, our clients and most importantly our people. You’ll assume responsibility for case management, providing online & telephone guidance and counsel to our stakeholders on HR policies and procedures including application of employment law, standard business approaches, policy, and precedent. Using risk assessed solutions to deliver an exceptional HR service.
Key Accountabilities- Provide colleagues and managers with first level support, specialist advice, guidance and interpretation of HR policy and practice, specifically in relation to employee relations activity so that they are aware of business approach and their obligations within the process or situation.
- Ensuring employee relations cases are managed in a timely and professional manner within a defined SLA.
- Ensuring engagement is maintained and managers act in a way that involves employees and fosters a positive work environment not losing sight of our mission to make Bidvest Noonan a great place to work.
- Dealing with disputes appropriately for example using mediation.
- Ensuring managers are upskilled to deal with people-management challenges and interpreting policies in a fair and effective manner.
- Contribute to the completion of regular and customised management information on a timely basis, produces interpretation of trends and findings, summaries and completes various MI reporting requirements for senior management consideration.
- Deliver coaching, case learnings and training to managers in matters relating to HR in line with best practice and employment legislation.
- Build trusted, credible relationships with leaders and HR teams to provide specialist ER advice and solutions for ER cases, following through to resolution and tracking advice given in the ER Case Management system.
- Demonstrate exemplary judgement, ensuring balanced advice based on assessment of risk that drives end results that are right commercially and/or aligned to our valued behaviours.
- Working in partnership with the Employment Law Adviser and leading on all litigation (ACAS/ETs) and settlement agreement strategies to bring to a resolution.
- Support in own key ER projects including HR policy updates, wellbeing initiatives and occupational health.
- Act as the ER expert in key business practices including Whistleblowing, client removal etc, identifying ER risk and providing feedback to continuously build line manager capability.
- Relevant HR experience at an appropriate level in a diverse and fast paced organisation.
- Knowledge and/or experience of employment legislation, Full understanding of ACAS and the Employment Tribunal System.
- Experience of managing Industrial Relations situations with union officials.
