For an impressive capital equipment manufacturer and market leader in Leicestershire, we are recruiting a Senior Buyer to underpin a growth agenda.
Main responsibilities:
- Reporting into the Operations Director and part of the Management Team, this is a key role in a small dynamic organisation, with overall responsibility for drawing up and delivering a sustainable procurement strategy (including inventory and logistics).
- Working closely with Design, Engineering and Production, the Senior Buyer will lead negotiations for all direct and indirect procurement in a heavily engineering biased context: suppliers selection, contracts and framework agreements negotiations, make vs. buy decisions.
- Leveraging the use of a new MRP system, you will put in strong processes to ensure procurement best practice enables on-time delivery.
The candidate profile:
- Ideally CIPS qualified, you have gained strategic procurement experience in manufacturing environments, putting structures and processes in an agile and fast-growing SME preferably, with a focus on quality and on time delivery.
- As a highly organised Senior Buyer, you have a natural ability to negotiate long-term deals and build the strongest possible supply chain.
- If without previous managerial experience, you will be keen to start managing and developing a small team.
