Exciting Opportunity: Band 6 Adult Mental Health Social Worker – Primary Care Mental Health Team

We have an exciting opportunity with great pay and flexibility!

  • Location: SE London
  • Duration: 3 months (with likely extension)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Rate of Pay: £21.21 PAYE or £28.50ph

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Join the integrated Primary Care Mental Health Team as an Adult Mental Health Social Worker.
  • Working alongside NHS and voluntary sector colleagues, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Screening and triaging new referrals while on duty
  • Completing strengths-based assessments, support planning, and stabilisation work
  • Leading on adult safeguarding cases and conducting Care Act 2014 assessments
  • Managing a caseload in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team
  • Participating in regular MDT meetings and contributing to risk management planning
  • Supporting service users with a wide range of mental health needs through brief intervention models

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • SWE Registration and a degree in Social Work
  • Substantial experience in adult mental health community casework
  • Strong assessment, engagement, and risk management skills
  • Sound knowledge of CA 2014, MHA 1983, and MCA 2005
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within an integrated MDT environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting recovery-focused care

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 9 AM – 5 PM. Based in SE London, offering excellent transport links and free parking. Initial 3-month contract with strong possibility of extension.
