A prestigious private members' club near Cobham, Surrey is looking for an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the smooth operation of multiple restaurants. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional service and fostering a warm, welcoming environment.

The Role

You'll be at the heart of the daily service, assisting in the leadership of a close-knit front-of-house team and ensuring members and guests enjoy a first-class dining experience. The role is a hands-on position that involves working closely with senior management, overseeing bookings and events, managing the wine cellar, and maintaining the highest standards of presentation, service and safety.

Hours of work:

  • 40 hours per week
  • 5/7 days per week

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the team in all aspects of day-to-day operations
  • Leading service in a high-volume and member-focused setting
  • Liaising with the kitchen, F&B and events teams to ensure a seamless experience
  • Conducting regular training for team members, particularly in beverage knowledge and upselling
  • Apply and monitor supervisor processes, and reporting any issues to HoD
  • Assisting with the menu planning, ensuring budget & GP% is adhered to, as well as monitoring F&B sales.
  • Managing rotas, holidays, and performance conversations
  • Assisting with recruitment, staff management, staff motivation and appraisals.
  • Maintaining impeccable hygiene, health and safety standards
  • Liaising with members in a professional manner, as well as responding to member feedback and implementing service improvements

The ideal Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will/have:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a quality hospitality environment
  • Previous experience in high volume environments
  • Proven experience in training and development
  • Be able to be hands-on during service
  • Confident leadership skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • A genuine commitment to creating memorable guest experiences & taking the service standards to the next level.
  • Good knowledge of food, wine, and service standards
