We are now seeking an Underwriting Manager to lead our operations in complex lending, guiding a talented team towards success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the underwriting process for self-build and development finance projects, with a focus on assessing complex income streams.
- Collaborate effectively with brokers, clients, and stakeholders to create structured solutions that meet both regulatory and client demands.
- Develop, implement, and refine underwriting policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and high performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to drive operational success.
- Underwrite high net worth applications with complex income streams and construction methods for BTL, residential owner occupied, self-build and development finance applications.
- Proven track record of managing, driving and increasing productivity and the training & competency performance of a team of Underwriters, with the ability and track record to lead colleagues in making decisions outside of their comfort zone.
- Understand the requirement for providing exemplary customer service and a proven track record of creating and delivering memorable experiences for Mortgage Brokers and or customers.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent housekeeping, a confident decision maker and able to handle challenge in times of uncertainty.
