Transport Team Leader

Streamline Recruitment are recruiting for a Transport Team Leader based in Tilbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced logistics operation, offering a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days and nights) and a salary of £47,000 on a temporary basis with potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring the effective and efficient running of transport operations.
• Monitor and manage the daily scheduling of vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and optimising routes.
• Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including operational performance, fuel efficiency, and driver performance.
• Coordinate and oversee the effective use of resources, including managing vehicle allocation, drivers’ working hours, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide excellent service to clients.
• Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of team members.
• Foster a positive team culture, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a transport or logistics leadership role, ideally within a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of transport operations, health and safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working in a 24/7 operation, including flexibility to manage both day and night shifts.
