The DRVN group have made some major recent announcements to launch some of Ford Motor Company’s most historically significant icons kick starting with the RS200 and MK1 Escort, giving engineers an amazing platform to not only showcase their engineering and design skills across various disciplines, but to work on the most amazing modernisation programmes ever to be seen. Responsibilities Responsibilities * Preparation of FE models to internal model quality guidelines using pre-processing software, including meshing, assembly, application of suitable material models, loads and boundary conditions. * Using commercial FEA codes to perform static strength, stiffness and durability analyses to guide the design of a vehicle. * Using appropriate static and dynamic analysis software packages to solve problems involving linear elastic and non-linear elastic/plastic material models, small and large deformation behaviour, and contact. * Interpreting analysis results using post-processing software and formally documenting analysis methodology, results and conclusions within analysis reports where required * Presenting analysis results to internal and external customers, providing recommendations on possible design optimisation to save weight and/or improve performance * Assisting in preparation of analysis cost and timing for the project team * Communicating with internal customers on a day-to-day basis, as well as the design and project management team. * Maintaining analysis and project documentation to satisfy the quality management system and other internal requirements. * Company Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company. Essential Skills * Engineering or Maths / Physics degree, higher OR equivalent * Ability to demonstrate hand calculations to support FE analysis * Relevant simulation experience and experience of analysing test data * Ability and project knowledge of Hyperworks, Optistruct/Nastran software * Intermediate knowledge of core FEA codes * Work with minimal supervision and can work under own initiative, but still work on direct instruction from management * Awareness: Project deliverables, customer processes. * Has a flexible approach to working * Represents the company internally & externally with acceptable professional standard * Intermediate skills in at least one core discipline * Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK – Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided. Desirable * Software programming or scripting ability * Ability to run optimisations in Optistruct * Knowledge of Normal Modes and NVH analysis * Knowledge of composites analysis, design and manufacture * Ability to lead individuals and communicate clearly and effectively within the internal team and customers * Knowledge of Hyperlife or other fatigue software * Knowledge of LS Dyna or Radioss Please note we do not provide sponsorships to those who require it and will only accept applications from those who have full rights to work in the UK with no restrictions and IDLR/Full Settlement status.
