SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN School - Full-Time - Shirley (B90) - September 2025 Start

Are you someone who loves making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for a caring and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN school that supports pupils from 5 - 19 years old with a variety of additional learning needs including ASD & ADHD. This is a full-time role, where you will be providing 1:1 support, helping students engage, learn, and develop confidence in a calm and nurturing environment. The school takes a holistic approach to education, focusing on both academic learning and life skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Working closely with students on a 1:1 basis, supporting their learning and well-being
  • Assisting with lessons and activities tailored to each pupil's needs
  • Helping students develop their social skills, communication, and independence
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and using strategies to help students feel safe and supported
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to give pupils the best possible support

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with ASD, ideally in an SEN setting
  • A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to working with young people
  • Good communication and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to adapt to different learning styles and provide personalised support
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is great, but not essential - experience and the right attitude are just as important!
