In the heart of Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire a ‘Good’ SEND School are on the hunt for an English Teacher to teach KS4 only to join them from September 2025. This is a permanent, and full-time contract.

Although supporting these young people can be challenging, the rewards are immense as you see them develop and succeed in reaching their full potential, gaining educational outcomes and returning to mainstream wherever possible. The work can be demanding at times but there is a high staff to pupil ratio - classes are small and always with TA support.

The school offers a supportive management team and the opportunity to effect real change and witness rapid progress is significant. The school is well invested into the Education sector setting new teaching practices, as well as training their own and new staff. It’s an exciting time at the school!

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Must have QTS or QTLS (or at least 1 year teaching experience if unqualified within a school setting)
  • Strong academics across the board – Degree, A Levels and GCSEs
  • Must be meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a ‘Good or Outstanding’ level
  • Must be willing to listen to feedback
