As a key member of the EC&I Team, the Instrument Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and management of all instrumentation and systems across the site. Provide technical support to the maintenance technicians, support the manufacturing facilities in production, contribute and deliver capital projects, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and design instrumentation and control systems for new and existing processes.
  • Create detailed specifications and design documentation for instrumentation systems.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems and manage installation contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections and testing to ensure proper installation and functionality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate instrumentation systems into overall plant operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Attend and actively participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) meetings.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with COMAH regulations.
  • Ensure all instrumentation and control systems comply with ATEX directives.
  • Select and install ATEX-certified equipment in hazardous areas.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.

SHEQ Management

  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met including workplace organization, work instructions, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and housekeeping standards in accordance with GLP and GMP.
  • Demonstrable evidence of understanding the importance of creating a safe environment.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow appropriate and relevant practices and procedures.

Team Building & Incentive

  • Assist in the generation, data collection, and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Organize and deliver SHE related training modules for staff.

Communication

  • Verbal and written communication within the Engineering Team.
  • Participate in interdepartmental communications.

Confidentiality

  • Follow company policies and procedures to keep confidentiality on sensitive information.

Education
