Job Purpose:
This is a senior position that will support and manage a small team of paralegals. The team will provide support to the Company's legal and contracts department. The person will also be hands on coordinating the closing of aircraft lease agreements.
This is a high volume department that requires a person who can work in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting and supporting the transaction lawyers in project managing transactions through documentation phase to contract signature and closing
- Actively participating in and managing transaction closings, including document execution process and completion of all relevant conditions precedent.
- Ensuring that all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with company standards and guidelines
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and agreeing ancillary documentation, such as lease amendments, side letters, conditions precedent and corporate approvals.
- Liaising where necessary with airlines, banks, aircraft buyers and sellers, manufacturers and maintenance providers
- Co-ordinating and managing input from technical, credit, finance and commercial departments in due diligence process in aircraft trading transactions.
- Appointing and liaising with external legal counsel in all relevant jurisdictions
- Liaising with corporate service providers in various jurisdictions to establish and manage special purpose companies
Experience & Skills:
- Degree level qualified with prior experience in a paralegal role,
- Attention to detail.
- Good time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
- Willing to take responsibility.
- Prior experience leading other team members
- Experience in aircraft leasing or aviation finance is desired but not essential.
- Ideally experience in asset finance or managing high volume transactions.
- Honesty and integrity. Must be trustworthy.
- Good communication skills – able to deal with customers, senior management.
- Drafting skills.
- Flexible, a strong team player, open to new ideas and robust.
- Ability to work under pressure and largely unsupervised.
