Are you an experienced carpenter with a good working knowledge of timber frame installation? Would you enjoy working both in the office and on-site in a diverse role? A well-established business in the Timber Frame market is recruiting for a Trainee Contracts Manager to oversee timber frame installations, manage paperwork, contractual documents, lift plans, and logistical requirements. This role is ideal for an experienced Timber Frame erector or someone with a project coordination background looking to develop a career in operations within an expanding timber frame company.
The successful candidate will oversee 3-5 live projects, managing operatives and subcontractors, attending site meetings, and ensuring progress and variations are properly documented and communicated. This is a great opportunity to start your contracts management career with a growing, close-knit business.
The Role:
- Visit 3-5 sites regularly within your area of responsibility
- Induct operatives on-site and ensure all documentation and requirements are met
- Provide clear direction to subcontractors and monitor quality
- Attend site meetings, document progress and variations, and distribute to relevant parties
- Ensure work complies with HSE standards, including scaffold, slab, and crane lift plans
- Maintain quality standards to ensure site handover meets contract specifications
- Collaborate with wider teams through regular office visits
About You:
- Ideally some experience in Timber Frame erection
- Ability to manage and motivate operatives on-site
- Effective communication skills with operatives, clients, and colleagues
- Ability to produce clear reports, identifying labor, delivery, and plant requirements, as well as program variances
- Ability to read working drawings
