We're working with a well-known organisation that's looking for a contract Clojure Developer to support a core team as they continue to maintain and gradually migrate a suite of critical Back End applications. You'll be joining a team of experienced Clojure engineers responsible for a range of systems including:
- Page composition and rendering for article and channel pages
- A configuration platform
- Data pipelines pushing Oracle DB content into Elasticsearch
- Internal jobs and feeds systems
- Sitemaps
- Elements of a comments service
These are monolithic, on-premise Back End systems, with a fair amount of templating involved - so some basic HTML knowledge will come in handy. While the long-term vision is a full platform migration, this role is focused on supporting the existing stack during that transition.
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience with Clojure in a production environment
- Solid Back End engineering background
- Familiarity with templating and rendering (HTML knowledge a plus)
- Comfortable working in Legacy/monolith environments
- UK-based contractor (or eligible to work in the UK)
If you're a pragmatic, experienced Clojure developer who enjoys solving real-world problems and keeping systems running smoothly during major transitions, we'd love to hear from you...
