Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 PA (DOE), plus Car / Car Allowance and Benefits
Overall Purpose of the Role:
To provide expertise across the healthcare sector on cleaning methodologies and keep up to date with best practices. The role includes informing cross-sector support for other Subject Matter Experts and HSE teams, where national changes are required across Compass Group. The post holder will proactively seek best practices to ensure the Healthcare offer is market-leading. You will increase the skill level of managers and colleagues through the design and delivery of training and continued support via the domestic managers group. Additionally, the role will support both new business and business retention by leading sales bids for cleaning elements and contributing to financial models, sales, bid processes, and mobilisation.
In addition you will:
- Create and maintain a network of domestic champions across the healthcare estate
- Continuously develop the Target Operating models for healthcare cleaning and keep up to date models for each contract
- Manage some of the subcontractors used within Healthcare, namely, pest control, window cleaning, feminine hygiene
- Promote Compass externally through NHS and other external bodies
- Support the cleaning industry in providing expertise to develop strategies and collateral in these areas
- Support Foodbuy by providing expertise to develop the commercial offering in cleaning Housekeeping and associated subcontracted services and support the management of these specialist suppliers
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients across the sector
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders and leverage these relationships for new business and retention
- Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers and the wider market to deliver value, expertise, training, and innovation
- Work with the NHS Suppliers Group to raise the profile of Compass Group and support NHSE in developing standard operating procedures
- Improve service levels across contracts, develop robust auditing tools, and conduct unannounced audits
- Provide innovative solutions that enhance patient/resident experience
- Produce case studies that support new innovations and operational practices
- Improve patient satisfaction scores and support the business to improve specific areas
- Work on industry-leading initiatives with NHSE, BSA, Infection Prevention Society, and AHCP
- Influence policy and guidance
- Translate policy and guidance into practical support for the business
- Implement processes to control chemical dosages and material usage
- Develop costing models to support the business and produce benchmarks for cleaning services
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role providing support to operations and business development teams
- Knowledgeable about Cleaning, Housekeeping, Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Waste management and Housekeeping service with time served in industry recognised qualifications
- Self-motivated, able to manage own time, workload and prioritise
- Fantastic communicator, able to enthuse team members and speak with authority with clients
- Understanding of working in an environment where infection control is key
- Commercial acumen - understanding of financial implications of decisions and need for supplier management
- Flexible and agile - able to adapt existing solutions and apply appropriately
- Ability to prioritise and deliver tasks to tight deadlines
- Ability to lead a team and drive performance and an ethos of continuous improvement
