The Role:You will be integral to our Supported Learning service providing essential support to individual students with learning difficulties/disabilities. There are multiple roles available and we are happy to discuss flexible working in regards to the role.Please note our academic year for New City College for term time only staff is 19th August 2024 – 11th July 2025.Key Responsibilities:Provide 1-1 in class support and whole assistanceContribute to the planning and delivery of support for a variety of subjects and for learners with learning difficulties and disabilitiesSupport progress and attainment of learners with additional SEND/EHCPS to achieve success on their course of study.Provide personal care for students who require it.Provide sensory support to facilitate full access to the curriculum for DPH/VI/MSI students through direct and indirect support.Who You Are:A committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant with learners with SENDLevel 2 in Functional Skills Maths and, innovative and entrepreneurial. As we develop our longer-term vision, we will continue to ensure that we invest in our staff and other resources to provide a distinctive offer and excellent, supportive learning environment which meets the needs of students and employers and prepares local people for the changing workforce of the area. As the College supports a number of children and vulnerable adults, all staff are exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Accordingly, all staff will be subject to an ‘Enhanced’ DBS (formerly CRB) check, along with a Children’s Barred List check if in regulated activity.
