We are on the lookout for a Restaurant Manager to lead the team at The Living Space, Watergate Bay Hotel with its beautiful interiors, Atlantic views, fresh Cornish produce and talented chefs. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you'll be managing a restaurant with a £4 million annual turnover. You'll bring plenty of industry experience and strong leadership skills to the role, with a warm personality that fits right into our culture of relaxed professionalism. You'll also work closely with our Executive and Head Chef to express our passion for excellent food and drink.

What your days could look like:

  • Leading the team to ensure wonderful hospitality in everything we do
  • Being hands-on and present on the floor to deliver exceptional service
  • Building relationships with all guests, from first-timers to returning multigenerational families
  • Planning to ensure continual operational effectiveness, whether you're on duty or off
  • Working with our kitchen teams to exceed guest expectations on the quality and execution of our food offering
  • Leading the ongoing training and performance management of the team from regular reviews to informal coffee chats to promote our culture of continual professional development
  • Working with the senior management team to develop and evolve The Living Space, taking an active role in identifying new trends and opportunities
  • Managing the financial performance of The Living Space & Breakfast Room to ensure all revenue, payroll and overheads budgets are met
  • Overseeing all ordering and deliveries to ensure good stock control and minimal wastage
  • Ensuring a safe environment for both our guests and teams, adhering to the company's health and safety policy and procedures
  • Being a role model for relaxed professionalism at all times

Job skills & requirements:

  • A genuine love of good food and drink, sustainable sourcing and working with local producers
  • Management experience within a large or multiple restaurant setting
  • A history of leading and developing teams to deliver specific goals and targets
  • Solid training experience, confident developing and delivering training materials
  • Barista experience and strong wine, spirit and cocktail knowledge
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A good understanding of Food Health and Safety requirements
