My client is a globally renowned, £multi-billion energy & engineering firm seeking several experienced hires with a background in Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering to join their recently transformed and expanding procurement function. The role will play an integral part in devising and implementing effective procurement strategies to deliver capital projects and optimise large scale Engineering related spend in alignment with the company's ambitious strategic goals as part of the transformation. This is a unique and exciting opportunity whereby the Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 3, as well as all aspects of strategic sourcing and key supplier relationship management and stakeholder management to drive this highly innovative and transforming procurement function towards best in class. The firm are offering circa £70,000 - £80,000 + £6k Car Allowance + 10% Bonus and a hybrid working structure of c.2 office days based in the Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire area.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholder groups, ensuring the delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards while being cost-effective.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes, identifying supplier initiatives and fostering strong relationships to optimize spending.
- Oversee key supplier relationships by conducting regular reviews and audits, ensuring contract terms are met, and maximizing value from each supplier partnership.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance the impact of procurement activities and act as a point of escalation for any supplier-related issues or concerns.
- CIPS or MCIPS qualified.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong procurement experience within Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Capital Projects / CAPEX.
- Industry background within Automotive, Pharma, Chemicals, Energy, Manufacturing, Engineering.
- Experience in end-to-end procurement and the ability to develop effective strategies, manage people, and improve operational efficiencies, reduce risk / achieve cost savings.
- Strong stakeholder management and SRM experience, strong influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to present to senior leaders, preempt questions and inform decisions.
- Analytical proficiency with a solid understanding of commercial/contract risk.
- Experience working in a matrix environment, dealing with both complexity and ambiguity.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with complex problem-solving.
