PE Backed technology business in Bristol now seeks to strengthen its international tax agenda with the appointment of an Indirect Tax Manager. Acting as the internal and external SME on VAT related matters, you will make active contributions to the tax strategy from a VAT perspective and contribute to tax team/cross-functional projects as related to indirect taxes.

Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and driven Indirect Tax Manager to join this growing tax team based in Bristol. In a truly business facing role, you will work on a variety of projects within a fast-paced successful global business. Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager you will be involved with interesting, complex tax issues and be responsible for helping to develop and implement the indirect tax strategy across the group, including all aspects of indirect tax compliance and tax risk management.

  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the indirect tax controls and processes and policies for accurate, timely and efficient indirect tax compliance
  • Lead audits and inquiries regarding indirect tax, including managing the relationship with local tax authorities/external advisors
  • Determine appropriate VAT treatment for large capital projects
  • Identify and evaluate issues, efficiencies, and opportunities related to indirect taxes
  • Lead complex indirect tax advisory services related to international tax matters, including providing support to the wider tax team on the indirect tax matters to be considered in relation to market entry to ensure that indirect tax cost is managed appropriately
  • Identify and implement indirect tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide ongoing VAT advice and training to internal stakeholders including finance, procurement and legal teams
  • Building relationships with advisers and tax authorities

About You

ACA and/or CTA qualified, you will have experience of indirect tax experience at a multinational company or mid/large accounting firm. Experience with improving, automating, and implementing tax processes and workflows would be hugely beneficial as is the willingness to take ownership of complex problems and quickly integrate business objectives with tax compliance and strategies.
