Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a P3M Specialist to work at our customers site in Derby on a contract basis. Provide authoritative guidance and services with regard to Project Controls in support of Project and Business teams in their execution of projects managed across the Business. Promotion of the general culture and professionalism of project management specialism throughout the Business.

Role details:

  • Contract length: 6 months
  • Location: Derby
  • Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solution

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recognised as local authority in relation to project controls and maintaining that status by continuing professional development, monitoring the external environment for opportunities and liaising with group and other sector functions.
  • Lead delivery of specific aspects within functional strategy relating to Project Controls.
  • Ensure the delivery of functional improvements relating to Project Controls.
  • Understand the causes of poor business performance, waste & opportunity.
  • Actively lead problem solving & improvement projects that deliver capabilities to close any gaps.
  • Capture lessons / learning / best practice and share across teams.
  • Escalate the capabilities, skills and training gaps needed by the wider project management community to support the Project Controls skill and develop plans to close the gap.
  • Establish, develop and maintain improvement plans of business capability in the area of Project Controls.
  • Coach and develop others where appropriate in the Project Controls discipline or provide expert guidance and authoritative leadership to small/medium teams.
  • Leads the integration of project management activities with other functions i.e. engineering, supply chain, planning & control.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally attained Degree level qualification or has relevant industry experience (1-3yrs experience).
  • Attained APM Project Management Qualification or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge.
  • Demonstrate good analytical skills with an ability to analyse and interpret information from different sources.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to wider project management processes and understanding of how the specialism influences and is integrated to the project / programme / portfolio.
  • Data analytics experience is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Information:

  • This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
