Oakley Food Projects are here to meet the needs of small to medium (SME) food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK looking to move, expand and future-proof their production facilities. Oakley is looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic Business Development Researcher. This fast-paced telephone position involves you identifying and contacting prospects to generate leads for the Senior Business Development Executive and subsequently introduce customers to our products and services.
Role Summary
- Develop a pipeline of prospects for the Senior Business Development Executive through effective use of all outbound communication channels, including telephone, email and social media.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect details within the company's central CRM system and assist with other related tasks as required.
Job Responsibilities
- Source and identify prospects by researching online and through other means, register and log on to the company CRM database.
- Engage with prospective customers through multiple communication channels with the intention of creating opportunities.
- Making outbound telephone calls to potential customers to stimulate interest and nurture relationships.
- Qualify opportunities by asking good questions, active listening and challenging prospects on their problems, motivation to find a solution, and authority to buy.
- Maintain and update data in the CRM system to ensure accurate records of prospect information.
- Support the Senior Business Development Executive with admin duties to maximise their call time.
- Help the Marketing team in preparation of events and exhibitions and attend as required.
The Successful Candidate
- Will need to have excellent attention to detail and a professional, confident telephone manner.
- Have good listening skills and able to action on their own initiative.
- Be self-motivated and thrive on the buzz and excitement supporting the Business Development Executives of developing new business.
- Previous business development or lead generation and telesales experience is essential for this role.

Office based in Winnersh RG41 5HU, 39 hours per week. Monday to Thursday working hours 8am – 5pm, and Friday 8am – 4pm. Open to part-time and flexible working hours. £35 - £45K per annum depending on experience.
