As the Biomass Boiler Operator for this Lincolnshire based Wood Biomass business, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the company's biomass boiler system, which uses organic matter (wood chips and wood pellets) to generate heat and produce energy (RHI). You will be responsible for monitoring the system, ensuring proper fuel supply and performing regular boiler checks to maintain optimal performance and safety. Ideally, you will have experience in LTHW and steam systems including pumps, valves, hydraulics, controls and steam generating plant. It would be a distinct advantage if you have completed a Boiler operation accreditation scheme (BOAS) qualification for steam operator level (but not essential).

Shifts: Monday to Friday, Days, 7.30am – 5.00 pm

Duties:

  • Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure maximum safety, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Work in a Central Control Room, using desktop control system monitoring to maintain plant operations.
  • Assist in plant operations to meet environmental and contractual standards.
  • Act as an Authorised Person, supporting the Senior Authorised Person with safety and operational duties, including permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out, and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure boiler, super heater etc. are maintained at peak performance.
  • Perform water quality testing and adjust chemical dosing for optimal plant operations.
