Job Description:
Role Overview: To work within Group Tax on property tax matters supporting the Head of LGIM Tax and acting as a tax business partner to the Real Assets team. Collaborate with other Property Tax Managers to meet business demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical tax support to the Real Assets team on ad-hoc queries and act as a property tax SME.
- Manage end-to-end tax support and risk management for property transactions and structures.
- Support new product launches with Real Assets Product and Solutions teams.
- Collaborate on structuring property acquisitions, considering tax implications.
- Review external tax due diligence reports and manage risks in agreements and negotiations.
- Ensure ongoing risk management controls and compliance with HMRC disclosures.
- Assist fund managers and client-facing colleagues with investor queries.
- Coordinate post-acquisition tax elections and returns.
- Oversee tax compliance for various funds and vehicles across jurisdictions.
- Prepare documentation for board decisions and tax filings.
- Share knowledge within the property tax team and support compliance review.
- Keep business updated on relevant tax developments.
- Support initiatives related to illiquid assets and HMRC consultations.
Qualifications:
- Professional Accounting (ACA, ACCA) and/or Taxation (CTA) qualification.
- Post-qualification property tax experience in a large corporate or practice.
- Good understanding of UK and non-UK property fund structures and tax implications.
- Experience with property / SPV acquisition, holding, and disposal.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain complex tax issues clearly.
