We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a short-term contract on a high-profile logistics distribution redevelopment project in Manchester. The successful candidate will be working directly with a major Tier 1 distributor as part of a critical infrastructure upgrade. This is a fast-paced site requiring an engaged, professional safety presence throughout the day shift.
While this contract is initially for 2 weeks, there is strong potential for further work on upcoming phases or related projects with this Tier 1 client, subject to performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
- Deliver toolbox talks and site inductions to operatives
- Monitor and manage compliance with H&S legislation and internal policies
- Take ownership of lifting operations oversight, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and competently
- Collaborate with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives to drive a proactive safety culture
- Maintain accurate and detailed site safety documentation and reports
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Certificate (minimum)
- Prior experience as a Health & Safety Advisor on construction or logistics projects
- Strong understanding and practical oversight of lifting operations
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage site teams and report to senior stakeholders
- Able to commit to 12-hour shifts across the 2-week period
