Our client is seeking an AV Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract in a hands-on technical role. Responsibilities include livestreaming, camera operation, and AV system management in a live event environment.
Salary: Up to £53,000 + Direct Staff Benefits
The AV Manager is responsible for managing and maintain the audio-visual equipment. This covers both 3rd party hardware and software and all Microsoft Teams integration services.
To support the running to hybrid and/or only AV events that require specialist management. These may be outside for normal office hours (8am – 6pm).
Resolve problems with the council’s AV infrastructure are promptly logged, diagnosed and resolved, while keeping the department, and the council as appropriate, informed about the status of all current issues.
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for AV Infrastructure.
• Responsible for AV change operations in accordance with the approved change control documentation. Initiates change control requests where appropriate and obtains approval before introducing changes to the infrastructure or any of its components.
• The day-to-day management of the audio visual within event spaces, boardrooms and meeting rooms.
• Work with the service desk in maintaining testing and servicing all audio-visual equipment (including maintaining licences, software upgrades etc.).
• Ensure regular proactive AV testing is carried out across all areas.
• Maintain systems and respond to reactive maintenance calls, faults and AV equipment queries in a timely and effective manner.
• Liaise with contracted AV maintenance providers to ensure any damages, repairs and replacement equipment requests are dealt with quickly and efficiently and producing relevant management / performance reports as required.
• Liaise with customers to ensure audio visual requirements are met as well as managing complaints for the service ensuring a positive resolution.
• Obtain quotes for AV services from external AV suppliers when required for both internal and external clients.
• Ensure appropriate technician cover for all events. Train Service Desk staff in basic AV troubleshooting for events.
• Required to manage any event related administration on a day-to-day basis including managing the AV inbox, producing quotes, technical briefs for support staff, invoicing and post-event reporting.
• Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines that ensures compliance with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements.
• Understanding and commitment to promoting and implementing the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies.
• Knowledge and experience of using IT.
• To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Degree Qualified, Equivalent Vocational Qualification or 3 + years relevant industry experience
• CTS Qualification
• Broad experience of Audio and Voice Infrastructure.
• Experience of troubleshooting and root cause analysis in a networked environment.
• Experience of creating and updating technical documentation
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams
• Strong experience in the use of Poly (HP), Microsoft Teams certified hardware and software.
• Broad experience of a range of current network and telecoms components and technology.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex IT matters to those without an IT background
• Knowledge of modern audio-visual systems and trends.
• Knowledge and awareness of current health & safety legislation and regulations.
• Substantial experience of working operationally in the industry – preferably within an in-house venue environment or with an AV supplier who works with event venues.
• Proven experience of overseeing, managing full-scale event productions with experience both with Sound and Lighting and IT.
• Experienced in Audio Visual sales and product knowledge.
