Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic team at St George's NHS Trust. The role involves providing comprehensive care and assessment for patients with complex needs, including trauma, neurosurgical, and neuro-oncology cases. The successful candidate will play a vital role in facilitating patient recovery and discharge planning within NHS pathways.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex patient assessments, including initial, motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional evaluations

  • Develop and implement individualized care and rehabilitation plans

  • Perform discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients

  • Provide expertise in specialist seating and equipment recommendations

  • Make and document mental capacity decisions in line with legal and ethical standards

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

  • Competence with iClip notes system is strongly desirable

  • Proven experience in rehabilitation, working with older adults and patients with physical and cognitive deficits

  • Strong team-working and communication skills within a healthcare environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
