We are recruiting for an Account Executive looking to kickstart their career in media and advertising, to join our Connections Planning team. You will be working on the Ford account in the UK – the biggest auto advertiser and one of the biggest accounts at Mindshare. We work in a unique ‘full service’ model meaning that the media teams collaborate closely with creative and account management teams within the Ford agency structure (primarily working with VML). Therefore we foster a fully integrated team approach across media, creative and client, working together across the 3 team locations - 2 days (Mon-Tue) at Ford’s Dunton office, 1 day (Wed) at VML Sea Containers House and 1 day (Thu) at Mindshare Rose Court.

In terms of your day to day, the bulk of your time will be spent working with the wider comms planning team and specialist channel teams in order to help respond to client briefs and ensuring these deliver. You will be a key stakeholder in ensuring the smooth running of the day to day – therefore an ability to organize and multitask is a must. This involves everything from sharing status updates internally and externally, managing overall budgets, and helping with creative delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Day to day management of campaigns, as a key liaison between clients and channel specialists, ensuring smooth operations and flow of information.
  • Manage the finance and billing operations within the team and direct with the client, with the support of the Account Manager.
  • Ownership of our creative tracker – working with the creative agency VML to ensure we’re on track and all parties have the necessary information.
  • Supporting the Account Manager and Account Director in the delivery of responses to client briefs, leading some smaller briefs.
  • Our team ‘eyes and ears’ on what’s happening in the wider media industry – including attending Mindshare hosted learning sessions and passing back any relevant information.
  • Owner of our Year Plan: a large and continuously evolving excel sheet which keeps track of our planned and actual spends.
  • Sourcing and sharing competitor and industry reports when relevant, on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Our team ‘Tool Guru’: able to become an expert in the various systems and data banks at our disposal.

About you

You are keen to learn and able to take guidance and advantage of the various learning opportunities. You show a fundamental understanding of various media channels (especially online) and can discuss the role they play within a comms strategy. Have an interest in both brand and performance campaigns. Ability to draw clear insights and implications for media. Take responsibility for the upfront work that needs to happen in order to deliver a great, clear and concise universal brief to the specialist teams that hits the clients' brief on the head. You are excited to work as part of a team; immediate, wider department and specialists as required. Leading by example though presence and contribution. Taking the responsibility for working in a collaborative, inclusive way. You demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in output and meeting deadlines. As well as strong organization to meet client expectations, manage workflow for self and junior team members. You are open minded, flexible and have a challenger mindset.

What we can offer you

  • A strong salary commensurate and in-line with relevant experience.
  • 25 days annual leave and your birthday day off.
  • Ongoing internal and external training opportunities.
  • Flexible working.
  • The opportunity to attend industry conferences and awards nights.
