An opportunity has arisen for a Production Support Engineer to work within a leading manufacturer of equipment for various industry applications, supplying some of the biggest names in the industry. This is a really interesting role where you will undertake a multitude of tasks, learn new skills and develop an exciting career within the business.
Within this role you will be working closely with Design, Manufacturing and Quality to provide support on product design, manufacturing, testing and certification. This position will see you being a mixture of hands-on within the manufacturing process and also office-based.
This role would suit a range of applicants from someone with previous experience within a similar production, manufacturing or industrial engineering role or applicants who are seeking the next step in their career and will view this as that next stage with more responsibility or a graduate, apprentice or college (NVQ) educated in either of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Production, Design or Engineering, who is looking to move into a more career-orientated role.
Responsibilities- Creating and maintaining drawings using a CAD package
- Creating, updating and maintenance of product manuals, user instructions and production & repair instructions
- Assembly of prototypes
- Performing product testing to defined test specifications and prepare test reports
- Performing testing and calibration of production equipment / instruments
- Undertaking additional tasks as and when required to support other areas of the business
- Ensuring products are being manufactured in accordance with customer and regulatory standards
Ideally, we would like our successful applicant to possess the following skills / experience but we are willing to train the right applicants who have the basic knowledge or exposure that we would need:
- Previous engineering knowledge – either from a college course, apprenticeship or as a graduate would be beneficial
- Experience, knowledge or exposure to design (using a CAD package such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge or Inventor)
- Any education / qualifications in either Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Design or Electronics would be an advantage
- Technically minded
- High level of computer / IT literacy
- Ability to maintain accurate records
