We are currently supporting a globally leading investment bank on the lookout for a Credit/ Market Risk BA Team Lead. As Credit/ Market Risk BA Team Lead, you’ll manage a team of nine (permanent and contract) analysts while directly supporting the delivery of key Risk technology projects. You’ll act as the main liaison between Risk, Change, and Technology, providing leadership, subject matter expertise, and hands-on delivery support.
Salary: £120,000+ Bonus
Working Environment: Hybrid working model (3/4 days/week in-office).
Office Location: London, Moorgate
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the Risk BA team, overseeing workload, resource planning, and performance.
- Provide hands-on business analysis for complex Risk initiatives.
- Ensure high-quality project delivery, supporting PMs and stakeholders with SME input.
- Act as a trusted advisor across Technology and the Risk business.
- Stakeholder & Resource Management
- Manage relationships across Risk, Technology, and Change.
- Plan and secure appropriate resourcing for Risk projects.
- Provide oversight on hiring, contract renewals, SLAs, and governance.
- Monitor team deliverables and produce MI/KPIs.
- Technical Contribution
- Deliver end-to-end BA support: requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and reporting.
- Advise on Risk systems, vendor solutions, and technical options.
- Perform SQL queries, systems analysis, and advanced Excel tasks.
- Champion AI use cases across the BA function.
- Cross-Team Support
- Deputise for the Head of the BA Team as needed.
- Support broader departmental innovation and strategy initiatives.
- Ensure team compliance with working policies and regulatory standards.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Strong experience leading technology delivery in Risk within banking or consultancy.
- Proven ability to manage senior professionals and large-scale, complex projects.
- Expertise in Market Risk (VaR, stress testing), Credit Risk (limits, collateral), and Regulatory Capital.
- Deep understanding of trade lifecycles, product booking, and financial instruments (e.g., Bonds, Derivatives, FX).
- Hands-on experience with Murex, including P&L, risk, market data, and pricing setup.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SDLC, project lifecycle, and business analysis best practices.
- Technical skills: SQL, Excel, system integration, and solution design.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Markitwire, IR/CRD clearing, and pre/post-trade rules.
- Experience with platforms like Markit Analytics, Moody’s.
