The Role

We are hiring 2x experienced Data Solution Architects to lead a critical cloud data transformation programme for a top UK utilities company. You’ll work with petabyte-scale real-time and historical datasets from systems such as SCADA, SAP, and IoT telemetry. Your primary focus will be delivering modern cloud-native data platforms across Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, with governance and streaming at scale. This is a hands-on architecture role—driving design, implementation, and platform optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect secure, scalable data solutions using Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric
  • Lead integrations across SCADA, SAP PM, telemetry, GIS, APIs, and legacy data sources
  • Govern structured/unstructured data using Purview, Unity Catalog, Profisee, Informatica
  • Implement real-time streaming with Event Hub, Kafka, IoT Hub, and Kusto/ADX
  • Design data platforms with Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Fabric OneLake
  • Lead CI/CD infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub
  • Define compute, storage, security, and networking architecture at scale
  • Enable AI/ML integration pipelines and analytics layers with Power BI, Databricks ML
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders across disciplines
  • Promote DevSecOps, governance, resilience, and observability across the ecosystem

  • HADR, cost optimisation, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning
