Introduction: Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Manager to join our team for an exciting project at Devonport Dockyard. This role involves overseeing night shift operations, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of workers, coordinating tasks, and maintaining effective communication with project managers and other stakeholders.
Job Description/Purpose: Reporting to the Works Superintendent, the Senior Site Manager will ensure that works are delivered to the correct quality and in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. The Senior Foreperson will work collaboratively with the project team and lead front-line supervisors from the supply chain to achieve our objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate works between all parts of the operational project team.
- Build and develop the team; identify training needs, review performance, and deliver briefings.
- Provide, monitor, and control labour, plant, and materials to meet the programme.
- Manage supply chain and direct workforce.
- Ensure high-quality standards to meet specifications and minimise rework.
- Assist the engineering team with method statements and programme outputs.
- Maintain accurate allocation sheets, delivery tickets, and plant returns.
- Ensure all records, such as inspections and works permits, are up to date.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary.
- Input into program and budget setting and monitor progress.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
- Understanding of construction techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of construction contracts through formal training.
- Computer competence (Email, Word, Excel, Document control system).
- Successful experience at General Foreman level.
- Extensive knowledge of reinforced concrete structures.
Desirable:
- Previous experience on nuclear schemes.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Relevant CSCS Card.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
- NVQ Level 4 - Construction Site Supervision.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 6.
- Confined space certification.
- Cat and genny certification.
- Temporary works supervisor certification.
- Lift supervisor certification.
