Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Controls Engineer with Siemens knowledge to join a multi-site specialist Engineering firm with a base near Warrington. The successful Controls Engineer will need to have recent knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal including WinCC. The Controls Engineer role could suit someone with around 5 years experience.

Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include:

  • Recent and demonstrable experience of Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC
  • The successful Controls Engineer will learn and ultimately be responsible for system configuration, including PLC code and WinCC SCADA configurations to meet project requirements.
  • Will be mentored by a seasoned, high calibre Controls Engineer – key to be committed to learning, developing and putting into practice what’s been taught
  • Role will be mainly office based
  • Produce project documentation including Functional Design Specifications, Project Specific Drawings, Design Risk Assessments, Test Procedures, Operator / Maintenance manuals and Training manuals
  • Any knowledge of scripting and/or C++ would be beneficial
  • Experience with PLC communications including PROFIBUS, Industrial Ethernet, Profinet or ModBus – nice to have
  • The Controls Engineer role will involve occasional international travel and therefore applicants should not be subject to any travel restrictions
  • It’s estimated the successful Controls Engineer time will be split between working in the office and on site to be 70/30 with 80% of all site work being based in the UK.
