Overview of the role:
Hours and location: 40 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays. The role will be based at Chesterfield.
WARD are looking for a Technical Assessor to ensure the Hazardous Waste Transfer station is fully compliant with current and incoming hazardous waste regulations. In particular, ensuring lists of waste are fully assessed prior to acceptance – with regards to classification and routing. Also logging of wastes onto Wards’ bespoke digital system. It will be expected that the candidate will be able to assist site with all aspects of the allocation of wastes to other disposal sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for technical assessment and approval of incoming waste
- Receipt of samples and arranging for samples to be sent to disposal outlets
- Analysis of waste using lab equipment on site
- Logging of waste onto Wards’ bespoke system
- Ensure that all incoming and outgoing hazardous waste is correctly classified and that an auditable trail of records is maintained according to site procedures.
- Follow site pre-acceptance, acceptance, sampling and compatibility procedures.
- Ensure all information required for quoting, transport and acceptance is logged onto the Enwis system.
- Understand site processing capabilities to enable routing of waste.
- Ensure compliance of all waste quotes with site permits and waste management regulations.
