Emerald Teaching are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to join our team, delivering high-quality, engaging science education in schools across Manchester.

About the Role:

  • As a Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of the scientific world. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics) in line with the national curriculum and school standards.
  • Creating engaging and interactive lessons to foster students' curiosity and understanding in scientific concepts.
  • Assessing student progress through assignments, experiments, and tests, providing detailed feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Developing and adapting teaching resources that cater to various learning styles, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
  • Maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment, ensuring that students understand and follow proper safety protocols during experiments and activities.
  • Supporting extracurricular science activities, including science clubs, field trips, and events, to deepen students' understanding and passion for science.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery and sharing best practices in science teaching.

What We're Looking For:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with the ability to teach at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
  • Experience teaching science in a secondary school setting (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a safe and focused learning environment.
