Location: Northeast

Rate: £28–£32 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a highly skilled Band 6 Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) to join the healthcare team at a Category A prison in the Northeast of England. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential clinical care to a vulnerable population in a secure, fast-paced, and rewarding environment. Due to the nature of the setting, candidates with existing Prison or CTC Clearance are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients within the prison environment
  • Undertake physical health assessments, wound care, and chronic disease management
  • Administer medications and respond to medical emergencies
  • Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, including mental health and substance misuse services
  • Ensure all clinical records are completed accurately and in line with service standards
  • Adhere to all safeguarding, security, and confidentiality protocols in place within the prison

Requirements:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration
  • Minimum Band 6 experience, ideally within custodial, A&E, or urgent care settings
  • Prison or CTC Clearance (strongly preferred for an immediate start)
  • Strong risk assessment, clinical judgement, and communication skills
  • Able to work confidently under pressure and within a secure environment
