Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Chartered Engineer to join our highly regarded Flood, Coast & Maritime team in Bristol or Bradford-on-Avon. You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse flood and coastal projects. This role offers you the chance to lead multidisciplinary teams and make a real difference on projects for key clients such as Natural Resources Wales, the Environment Agency, and local authorities. You will be responsible for growing a Technical Team Capability. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of a range of flood risk management, river restoration, coastal adaptation, and water resource projects.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality project deliverables, ensuring they meet client specifications and fall within budget and schedule constraints.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and graduates, guiding them towards professional qualifications.
- Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Project Managers to ensure smooth execution and commercial success of projects.
- Support the development of innovative solutions for flood alleviation, river restoration, drainage, and sustainable infrastructure.
- Work on a variety of projects with contract values ranging from £50k to £500k.
- A background in Civil Engineering.
- Professional engineering qualification with the ICE, CIWEM, or similar body.
- Experience in the flood and coast sector, including the design and appraisal of schemes.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, producing high-quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Experience in client and stakeholder engagement and presenting technical solutions effectively, including management of day-to-day relationships regarding technical delivery.
- Pastoral care and staff management experience.
- Familiarity with NEC Professional Service Contracts (PSC) and the ability to manage project changes.
- Experience in developing business cases and preferred options using FCERM Appraisal Guidance.
- Experience in developing and leading civil engineering outline and detailed design.
- A focus on sustainable solutions, supporting natural resource management and the journey towards net zero.
- Experience with site construction to enhance design buildability.
