About the Role:
We are seeking a Health & Safety Intern to assist with workplace safety practices and support the HSE Manager. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Health and Safety management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Document findings and support corrective actions
- Help review and update safety policies and procedures
- Draft safety communications and training materials
- Assist in investigating incidents and recommend prevention measures
- Support safety training sessions and workshops
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities
- Analyse safety data to identify improvement opportunities
- Stay informed about health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with UK standards (e.g., ISO 45001)
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field, or have relevant work experience
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles and regulations
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and proactive attitude
- Experience with safety management software is a plus
Salary & Benefits:
- £25,000 to £27,000 (Depending on Degree)
- Full Time Internship - Monday to Friday 9am-5pm – 37.5hrs p/w
- Hybrid working
- 24 days annual leave (+ carry over up to 5 days)
