Our well-known agricultural client based in Shrewsbury is looking for a full-time, temporary to permanent forklift truck driver to join their busy team. You will be accurately picking all orders for supply to our stores, operating a forklift as required, taking care to adhere to all necessary safety standards, loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, putting away all incoming goods in an organised manner and reporting any anomalies in stocks or low levels of goods. In addition, you will be maintaining good housekeeping in the warehouse and keeping it clean and tidy always, maintaining a safe working environment, participating in any duties as may be necessary in the interests of health and safety, including COSHH compliance, spillage clean-up, and safe manual handling, servicing any warehouse customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and playing a key role in stocktaking activities.
Ideal Candidate
- Be able to conduct a manual handling role, and be able to lift 25kg in a safe manner
- Possess an in-date Counterbalance or Reach Forklift Truck licence (essential)
- Be self-motivated and can work from own initiative
- Demonstrate strong accuracy levels
- Be flexible in approach to working hours
- Have excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Although there is an element of forklift driving in this role, it is also essential that the candidates are aware of the physical aspect of the role in terms of order picking by hand in the warehouse.
Monday-Friday (rotating shift pattern of 6.00am-2.30pm & 10.00am-6.30pm)
The hourly rate is £12.50/hour for a candidate with both valid counterbalance and reach licenses, or £12.21/hour for a candidate with either a valid counterbalance or reach license.
