Airswift has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Piping Engineer to join one of our clients on a 12-month+ contract. This is a hybrid role requiring presence in the Aberdeen office 3 days a week.
The Lead Piping Engineer will be an integral part of the project design team, responsible for the technical and commercial execution of design and requisitioning, in line with the project schedule and control estimate.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Advise the Department Manager on personnel requirements to maintain the project plan.
- Monitor and control manhour budgets against the project plan.
- Review vendor bids and documentation for technical acceptability.
- Provide technical assistance to other design team members.
- Ensure supervision levels encourage empowerment and responsiveness in design, procurement, and construction.
- Collaborate effectively across disciplines and locations to ensure project success.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Plant Layout, Piping Design, and Piping Engineering within an EPC/EPCm environment.
- Extensive offshore experience.
- Commercial awareness in a professional services context.
- Knowledge of UK, European, and international standards (ASME/ASTM).
- Experience as a Lead on Petrochem and/or Pharmaceutical EPC/EPCm projects.
- Piping materials expertise, including specifications and valves.
- Working knowledge of E3D/PDMS.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree.
