The role:

  • As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll oversee and coordinate the work of team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Hold and manage Safety Documents to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Utilise and maintain specialised equipment required for reactor inspections.
  • Take positive remedial action on identified unsafe working conditions or practices.
  • Interpret and implement the task, including the associated quality requirements.
  • Complete the scope of work to time and budget constraints.
  • Produce and complete any appropriate documentation and records associated with the task.
  • Maintain good communications between Sites, EDF energy (where applicable) with updates on progress, issues and possible resolutions.

This role is full time, 37-hours across a 4-day week (Monday - Thursday) and based at the Harwell site in Oxfordshire.

Essential experience:

  • Previous experience working within a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing teams to deliver.
  • Experience covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualifications e.g. HNC/HND.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
