Job Description:

What you\’ll be doing? Within the Construction environment, responsibilities include buying materials, managing large projects, ensuring health and safety, and customer service. The company works on approximately 400 developments across the UK, ranging from new builds on brownfield sites to adapting existing buildings. We seek individuals with innovative ideas and strong commercial skills in managing people, budgets, and costs. Our Site Managers have received more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder for thirteen consecutive years. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will oversee the construction of a development, including pre and post housebuilding works, ensuring safety, timely delivery, quality, customer care, and cost management.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, NHBC standards, building regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate labor and resources to meet the build program and schedule trades efficiently.
  • Maintain high-quality standards on all plots, adhering to NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and specifications.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and rectify defects to avoid additional costs or delays.
  • Monitor and control production costs, approve payments to contractors and trades.
  • Attend plot inspections with inspectors, ensuring minimal RI’s/BRI’s.
  • Lead toolbox talks and on-site briefings.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and partners to meet project timelines.
  • Work with sales teams to ensure smooth home delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of site presentation.
  • Conduct New Home Tours with customers, addressing questions and issues before legal completion.
  • Support the Contracts Manager in resource planning and team management, providing training and clear responsibilities.
  • Exemplify professionalism and safety in all aspects of work.

What you\’ll need:

To succeed, you should have:

  • Extensive experience managing build programs and priorities.
  • Proven ability to meet targets through effective team organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and compliance enforcement.
  • Strong leadership and assertiveness to ensure quality delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems effectively.
  • Chartered status with the Institute of Builders and/or NVQ level 5 in Construction Management, or significant trades experience.
  • Deep knowledge of construction, housebuilding, health and safety, NHBC, and Building Regulations.
  • Experience working with customers and resolving issues professionally.
