Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Business Partner to support procurement projects, provide commercial challenge, and maximize value from spend.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Assistant Director in delivering procurement projects and ensuring effective commercial challenge.
  • Develop a consistent approach to sourcing, purchasing, and tendering across nominated spend categories, focusing on value for money, cost savings, and social value benefits, managing approximately £30m pa.
  • Manage strategic planning and implementation of medium-value/complex procurements, ensuring cost-effective outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Provide procurement advice to stakeholders, including up to Assistant Director level, creating savings and added value.

Team and Processes:

The A&I Procurement Team offers commercial challenge through category management, analysis of spend, and market data. Directorate tenders and quotations are supported by a procurement helpdesk, online templates, and training, including a 'Procurement Licence'. Above-threshold procurements are handled by the Procurement Team.

Qualifications and Memberships:

  • Degree or equivalent skills and knowledge
  • Procurement/commissioning qualification (CIPS or equivalent)
  • In-depth procurement knowledge and contract law understanding

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (public procurement, data protection, transparency)
