We are currently working with a Global manufacturing facility who are looking to recruit a proactive Maintenance Manager. You will need to lead and manage a team of engineers to drive the team into proactiveness from reactiveness. We need someone that can support and develop/mentor the supervisor whilst coaching and guiding the whole team. The role is based between office and production.
Duties for the Maintenance Manager:
- Overseeing building and equipment maintenance.
- Managing maintenance staff and contractors.
- Creating and implementing maintenance schedules.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and in accordance with current legislation including MAPP (Major Accident Prevention Policy).
- Budgeting for repairs and upgrades.
- Responding to emergency maintenance issues.
- Ensure that all maintenance engineers are qualified & trained to fulfill all designated tasks.
- Maintain the site according to COMAH & EA directives following the MAPP process.
- Ensure that the Permit to Work system is implemented & maintained at all times to assist with the control of on-site contractors in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Determines material, equipment, spares/critical spares & consumables to be used for repairs/service/breakdowns.
- Transfers equipment and personnel from repairs/service/breakdown to another as required.
Personal skills and experience required for the Maintenance Manager role:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a departmental supervisory position.
- Relevant experience in electrical/mechanical engineering/maintenance & repair role.
- Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors/directors.
- Use and knowledge of ERP management system, & all other pertinent legislative governmental systems.
- Hands-on approach.
- Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
