Our client is a leading food ingredient manufacturer. At present they are seeking a Formulation & NPD Technician on a permanent basis at their site in Worcestershire.
Candidates will be responsible for supporting the Lead Formulator in all aspects of product development, optimisation, and testing, covering a wide range of product categories, including bread mixes, improvers, allergen-free items, baking powders, confectionery, and vitamin blends. Developing new products as well as improving and optimising existing products across all customers and brands.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Lead Formulator in the formulation, development, optimisation, and testing of new product formulations.
- Devise experimental procedures and baking tests to evaluate and refine product performance.
- Document and analyse data collected from trials and experiments.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation systems to record and track product development activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in areas such as Baking centre, commercial, production, quality, and marketing.
- Ensure all product formulations and development processes adhere to relevant regulatory and quality standards.
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to address any issues that arise during product development.
Candidates will be degree qualified with a BSc or HND or equivalent in Chemistry or Food science or related field is essential and will possess a fundamental understanding of product formulation and the properties and functionalities of food ingredients.
