Exciting opportunity with one of the leading suppliers to the fashion high street. They are actively looking to recruit an experienced Senior Women’s Jersey and Woven Nightwear Designer to work with their largest accounts. You will have extensive experience in sleep and loungewear, ideally as a nightwear specialist within a supplier, high street retailer, or brand.

You should have excellent taste levels and experience with the UK high street, brands, retailers, and supermarkets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct in-depth trend research from catwalk to high street competitors.
2. Create commercial designs focused on the buyer’s needs.
3. Build strong relationships with buyers through effective presentation of designs.
4. Maintain constant communication with the overseas office to ensure smooth handover of designs and sample requests.
5. Create detailed tech packs and specifications for all samples.
6. Travel internationally for design inspiration, buyer meetings, and factory visits.
7. Take ownership of growing your category, working with account managers to develop this successful area.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

1. Experience as a Senior Designer within a supplier, high street fashion retailer, or brand, working with mid-market brands, retailers, and supermarkets.
2. Strong creative and commercial eye.
3. Confidence in verbal presentations that can generate new sales and build trust with buyers.
4. Innovative, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment.
5. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
6. Understanding of business strategy and its application.
7. Experience working with suppliers in China and Bangladesh.
8. Strong fabric and trim sourcing experience.
9. Print experience is desirable but not essential.
10. High proficiency in Adobe CAD software.
