Our Dispute Resolution team is looking for a Senior Associate to join their dynamic team. This full-time position is based in our Glasgow office. The team, led by Euan McSherry, works across our commercial offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Perth, Stirling, and Newcastle, collaborating closely with our legal departments and branch network throughout Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated candidate to develop and shape our Glasgow practice.
The role offers career progression for individuals who demonstrate the ability to maintain strong client relationships, work with specialists across the firm, and engage in business development. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of dispute resolution work, with significant client and team interaction.

ROLE
The role involves advising and representing clients ranging from private individuals and SMEs to large corporations and FTSE 100 firms in various court, tribunal, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Specialisms include general commercial litigation, company disputes, breach of contract, real estate litigation, insolvency, professional negligence, and advocacy.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, national team, collaborating with junior solicitors and commercial colleagues in Glasgow to grow our commercial litigation offerings and improve our rankings in legal directories, with potential progression to Partner.
JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advising clients on dispute resolution and litigation matters
- Managing a varied and heavy caseload
- Meeting client expectations
- Negotiating settlements and achieving the best outcomes
- Representing clients in court hearings, ADR, and settlement meetings
- Drafting legal documents
- Consistently meeting fee targets
- Collaborating with team members to achieve goals
- Promoting the department and firm through business development
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff
- Making cross referrals to colleagues
- Supporting and promoting the firm generally
Requirements
Qualifications
- LLB, Diploma in Legal Practice (Essential)
Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Teamwork skills
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of dispute resolution and litigation
- Knowledge of Sheriff Court and Court of Session practice and rules
- Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution forums
