Supply Heroes are looking for a highly motivated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a fun, supportive, and highly respected mainstream primary school in Redditch, Worcestershire. The school has supportive staff that are dedicated to helping all students succeed and have a strong focus on student well-being and mental health.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 3 with Autism as well as giving additional classroom support where needed. Therefore, somebody who has a passion for working in SEN, good adaptability and strong relationship building will thrive in this role. It starts ASAP and will be for the rest of the academic year, full-time 5 days a week, with a view to continue into next academic year too.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree in Education
- A relevant qualification in Emotional Based School Avoidance
- A relevant qualification in Understanding Autism in Women and Girls
- Experience of working with pupils with SEN
- A depth of knowledge of the primary school curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive and patient approach
