Due to significant growth in demand for our corporate GHG accounting, reporting and emissions reduction services, there is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our climate change consultancy team, focusing on the heavy industry sector. The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team, supporting ERM’s client organisations on challenges related to energy and climate change, including:
- Accounting of greenhouse gas emissions (scopes 1, 2, and 3), developing inventories for heavy industry and hard-to-abate sectors according to industry best practices.
- Identifying technological and strategic GHG reduction opportunities and integrating these into climate action roadmaps.
- Reporting climate performance in sustainability reports and CDP disclosures.
- Embedding climate change considerations into risk management and strategy planning.
- Conducting physical climate change and low-carbon transition risk assessments aligned with TCFD recommendations.
- Engaging and building governance capacity from the board to operational levels.
Our role is to help clients achieve sustainable development objectives and manage related risks and opportunities effectively. The team collaborates with other ERM practice areas, providing services such as sustainability strategy, impact assessments, due diligence, performance management, and risk management.
As a Net Zero Managing Consultant, you will guide organizations towards achieving net-zero emissions by providing strategic, technical, and innovative solutions. Projects include Net Zero strategy development, GHG inventories, and decarbonization strategies. You will act as a key advisor to ERM’s clients, managing projects and leading teams.
- Lead analysis of carbon emissions, setting targets (SBTi), developing reduction roadmaps, and implementing strategies.
- Support clients in meeting assessment and disclosure requirements.
- Oversee report and presentation preparation, manage project delivery, and mentor junior staff.
- Assist in proposal development across various sectors.
CORE SKILLS
- Relevant degree or 5+ years’ experience in environmental consulting or related fields.
- Experience in heavy industry sectors is advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of GHG accounting/reporting standards (GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc.).
- Ability to recommend methodologies and articulate their advantages.
- Understanding of climate legislation, management systems, and economic analysis of GHG reductions.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (advanced skills preferred).
- Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Numerate with large datasets, excellent communication, and technical report writing skills.
