Our client is Europe’s largest manufacturer of engineering polymer sheet selling into the automotive, aerospace, construction and industrial markets globally. Operating from multiple manufacturing sites, the company employs over 600 staff and is a market leading business with a respected international customer base.
Job Overview:
In this sales leadership role, you will be an important part of a sales team looking after 10 to 15 key accounts in the UK market across a range of industries. You will have the autonomy to develop these key customers by building strong relationships and ensuring the company continues to provide excellent service, value proposition and quality products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- A business to business key account role selling engineered polymer sheets to established customers across the Central Midlands & North-East UK region and Belgium.
- Working closely with the Chief Business Officer, Regional Sales Managers and the internal customer service team to deliver in line with client expectations.
- Be the key contact for each of the designated customers responsible for service, delivery, joint product development initiatives, pricing and contract management.
- Respond professionally to any customer issues that arise relating to quality, delivery or performance and ensure a solution is found by proactively liaising with the necessary contacts internally/externally.
- Develop and implement key account plans for each of the customers, tracking business performance, output, purchasing patterns, further potential, product development and cross selling opportunities.
- Take an active role in key account business development across the Scandinavian region.
- Demonstrating strong relationship building techniques and capacity to develop the customer contact network as required.
- Giving monthly presentations showing progress and development within the key accounts to Director level.
- Liaising with production, logistics and technical colleagues both in the UK and European sites to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintaining a full understanding of extensive product ranges to maintain a high level of technical knowledge.
- Acting in a mentoring and support role to the sales team, with the possibility of taking on a UK sales management role.
Qualifications:
- Degree level education preferred or some evidence of sales training.
- You will either be an established, key account professional looking for a new challenge within a European company where there is good progression into a people management role.
- A track record of account development within the plastics industry would be preferred although not essential and sales professionals from other similar fast paced industrial B2B sectors will be considered.
- A driven self-motivated individual who enjoys meeting new people and works well in a team.
- Full UK driving license and appropriate work visas if required.
