We are currently recruiting for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our dedicated and hard-working team, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position. You will be based in LE67, Heather.
Pay Rate: £14.21 per hour
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
About the Role: As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality ground's maintenance work across various commercial and public sites throughout the Midlands - covering areas from Northampton to as far north as Sheffield. This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to individuals who enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions and are comfortable with early starts and travelling to different locations.
Key Duties Will Include:
- Operating a variety of machinery including lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and blowers
- Assisting with the upkeep of green spaces, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and general tidy-ups
- Ensuring equipment is loaded, used, and maintained safely and correctly
- Working as part of a mobile team travelling from our base to various client sites
- Supporting the delivery of scheduled maintenance work to a high standard
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday:
- 06:30 - 15:30
- 06:45 - 15:45
- 07:00 - 16:00
Friday:
- 06:30 - 11:30
- 06:45 - 11:45
- 07:00 - 12:00
Note: You will be assigned a specific shift pattern and are required to take a 1-hour unpaid break each day.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar ground's maintenance or landscaping role
- Competence and confidence using grounds maintenance machinery (lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers)
- A positive, can-do attitude and strong attention to detail
- Good timekeeping and reliability - you must be able to consistently arrive at the base on time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to travel to different locations and adjust to varying start/finish times as needed
- A full UK driving licence is needed.
