A manufacturing company based in Redditch is seeking a Project Buyer to take ownership of supplier contract negotiations and lead data-driven cost improvement initiatives. This position plays a key role in aligning procurement strategy with operational goals, ensuring effective supply chain performance, and driving commercial value through strategic sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead point of contact for supplier contract negotiations
- Plan and deliver cost reduction initiatives using data analysis and sourcing strategies
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring timely and cost-effective material supply
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement actions where needed
- Use procurement and market data to identify opportunities and guide decision-making
- Collaborate with internal teams including operations, engineering, and quality to meet production and business objectives
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and leverage procurement data
- Experience leading projects and working cross-functionally
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel or similar data tools
